Port Angeles sits on the northern edge of Olympic National Park in Washington, an area that features an abundance of outdoor recreation, including hiking, biking and camping. The city of Port Angeles also features a public pool and a recreation center for days when outdoor activities are precluded by weather. It is not uncommon for concerts to be staged on the pier in Port Angeles, offering a unique venue to see some live entertainment. The local farmers market is held nearby every Saturday and the occasional Wednesday, giving visitors and locals a chance to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables from area farmers. Port Angeles is also found near the Canadian border, and with ferry service to Victoria, British Columbia, visitors can easily access the coastal attractions north of Washington.
